  Weitz/Luxenberg is one of the big law firms that run nationwide TV ads looking for class action suit participants....and this time they've teamed up with other firms. This is huge. Yoooge. Already the TV ad is running throughout the tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) areas, that we know of. If any of you see it elsewhere, please share.

  Wow, just WOW. It is now out there for all to see. Sounds like they're looking to file a class action suit. Less compensation for the victims this way, but publicly singling out the org for sex abuse? Priceless.

  this post may be disturbing and i apologize, but i'm just trying to find out if this is a practice the jw teaches.

  i was taken advantage of by a guy claiming to be a jw preacher.

  he took me to his house supposedly so i could give his daughter piano lessons, and then he basically forced himself on me while telling me he was in love with me and wanted to marry me.

  Sequoia, I want to apologize for the ignorance you have encountered here. I am very sorry that you were assaulted by this monster and I hope, for your sake and others, that he does end up in jail. Please do see a therapist as well.

  It doesn't matter if you agreed to date him. This was in no way your fault. He is a predator and you should press charges or the behavior will likely continue.

  so i did a huge book clearout before i moved house a few weeks ago.

  among the books for sale were some watchtower books that had become obsolete, old light or had since been "clarified" by the society.

  so i thought they'd be wanted by ex-jw's or active apostates for their research.. unfortunately, it looks like an active jw is so brainwashed that they not only bought the "old light" version of gods kingdom rules but they even suggested that i read it because "time is running out".

  I bought a few old JW books on Ebay to use in my collage work. One of them has areas of underlining and angry remarks in the margins. It looks to be an elderly person's handwriting...I guess maybe somebody finally woke up?

  though the dubs have eased up their stance on mental illness a bit, their attitudes remain similar.

  Did anyone see this program on Investigation Discovery? It's a true story about Scientology's lack of belief in therapy or meds for the treatment of mental illness, and the danger of denial. Though the dubs have eased up their stance on mental illness a bit, their attitudes remain similar. I recommend watching, as there seems to be a high incidence of mental health issues among JWs and exJWs.
